Sustainability Coaching Coalition

Global Bodies Collaborating for a Sustainable Future

The interconnectedness of all species and earth systems requires collective action and collaboration at local and global levels. We believe that coaching can help.

Introduction

The Sustainability Coaching Coalition (SCC) represents a collective of global professional bodies in the areas of coaching, coaching psychology, mentoring and supervision who are collaborating for a sustainable and regenerative future.

The SCC is the evolution of the former JGSG-Joint Global Statement Group on Climate Change, which was a historic collaboration initially formed in 2020 by representatives of a group of coaching associations who came together to create a call to action for the coaching community through the creation of the Joint Global Statement on Climate Change.

This site is dedicated to equipping coaches to address sustainability needs across the globe. You’re invited to read the joint-statement, explore the Knowledge Base, review the posts, and explore our events to learn how you can utilize coaching and mentoring as powerful tools for creating positive change in the regeneration of the ecosystem to create a sustainable planet where all living creatures can thrive.

In this SCC Roundtable session, you will learn about the significance of the United Nations ICJ (International Court of Justice) Advisory Opinion on Climate Change and the potential positive impact it has on people and planet. We will then discuss how coaching and mentoring can help support the intention of the Advisory Opinion and support the concept of Active Hope.

The Right questions

Are we just desecrating our own nest?

Or can we move to the art of the possible, the art of the impossible even

As we explore accountability as coaches we ask:

Where do I put my energy?

What is mine to do? what is right for us to do?

How do we support young people in something that is bigger than all of us

What are the large scale and local level initiatives we can support?

The ‘second leader’ is crucial for action and collective power

In this new space of collaborative coaching we ask:

What is different about this coaching?

How do we reach people, influence people?

And address both sustainability and inner development goals?

How do we hear all the voices?

What is the change we are willing to affect?

In a collapsing space we ask:

How we can embody active hope and from that constructive hope

Through research, activism, education and a sense of community

How can we facilitate a safe space for each other, a brave space?

Moving from a framework celebrating linear time to a paradigm shift

Amidst a time of endings and beginnings

In a time of elusive answers, we ask:

How can we explore good questions instead?

How can we reimagine professional development?

How can we include marginalised groups?

How can we work both with local communities and accreditation bodies?

expanding our signatories and therefore operating in a new way?

The voice of nature gives us a mycelium way of working

One of nourishment, energy, interconnection and an invitation

To be a part of something bigger

To be a good ancestor

And contribute to a coaching evolution

Through a shift in consciousness

And a new way of being in the world
